eBay Fee & Profit Calculator
2026 rates, by category: final value fee, per-order fee, Promoted Listings spend, and what actually lands in your pocket after your costs.
eBay fees, answered.
- How much does eBay take per sale in 2026?
- For most categories, 13.6% of the total sale (item price plus buyer-paid shipping) up to $7,500, then 2.35% above that, plus a per-order fee of $0.30 on orders of $10 or less and $0.40 above. Some categories differ: media runs higher, guitars lower, and qualifying athletic shoe sales over $150 pay 8% with no per-order fee.
- Does eBay charge fees on shipping?
- Yes. The final value fee applies to the total the buyer pays, including shipping (and, in practice, the sales tax eBay collects). Charging high shipping with a low item price does not avoid fees.
- Is an eBay Store subscription worth it for lower fees?
- A Basic Store drops the final value fee in most categories from 13.6% to 12.7%, which pays for itself at sufficient volume: roughly, when 0.9% of your monthly sales exceeds the store fee. Stores also change your free-listing allowance, which matters for high-listing sellers.
- Are payment processing fees separate on eBay?
- No. Since eBay moved to managed payments, payment processing is included in the final value fee. There is no separate PayPal-style charge.
- How current are the rates in this calculator?
- The fee table was last verified on 2026-08-18 against eBay's published selling-fee schedule. eBay adjusts fees periodically; always confirm edge cases against eBay's own fee page.
